RBSeeing from the Artist Within is to view the world with a heightened sense of awareness and appreciation.
Meeting at Clark Park Recreation Center, workshop participants will learn to include the fundamentals of art into the process of seeing. Participants will be asked to include all of their senses with physical sight, allowing a new perception and understanding. This is called multimodal perception, the brain’s process of combining information from multiple senses in a unified, richer, and more accurate understanding of the world around them.
Russ will speak about utilizing visual language along with shape, value, color theory, contour, and perspective to create the impression of depth on the flat surface of your paper or canvas.
Finally, we will discuss a few helpful techniques for plein air painting and take this new way of seeing outside to create a sketch and/or painting(s).
